Curriculum Vitae

Current Position

Université Pierre et Marie Curie - Paris 6, Paris, France

  • PhD. Student
  • Adviser: Dr. Giovanni Pau
  • Laboratory: Laboratoire d’Informatique de Paris 6 - LIP6
  • Research group: Networks and Performance Analysis
  • Subject: Mobility and Connectivity challenges - Connecting vehicles and integrating them in smart-city infrastructures could enable a wide range of personalized services as safety application, predictive car maintenance, smart mobility, personal communication ... but to achieve this, we need to face a number of challenges: understanding car mobility is a key to support services while on the go. Furthermore, the exploration of a new generation of communication protocol is needed to efficiently connect cars to the Internet.

Professional Experience

  • Network Research Lab of UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles)
    • Visiting research scholar (Aug 2012 to October 2013)
      •  Adviser: Dr. Giovanni Pau
      • V-NDN (Vehicular Name Data Networking): I worked on NDN, a content oriented network protocol. I’ve realized the first implementation of NDN for vehicular scenario. The majority of the efforts have been focused on the study of techniques to increase the performance using NDN over WiFi ad-hoc communication.
      • Wireless performance and analysis: I’ve been working at the analysis of WiFi communication performance, focusing my efforts in vehicular scenario.
    • Visiting research scholar (Aug 2012 to October 2013)
      • Professor Mario Gerla
      • Adviser: Dr. Giovanni Pau
      • Master thesis; see Education section
      • MoViT Project: a distributed mobile wireless networks emulation framework that allows application and protocols to run concurrently and continuously in its own virtual machine. I collaborated at the realization of a Unix kernel module that filters the network packets according to some dynamic rules that models the wireless channel.
