CUDEN

About

CUDEN’s main objective is to provide support for ad-hoc cooperative communities between various devices to facilitate collaborative activities by extending users’ physical experience and capabilities. It will provide advanced devices connectivity services enabling new types of communication to assist collaborative activities by extending users’ physical experience and capabilities. To this end, we will develop data processing and context modeling techniques to analyze users’ social and surrounding environment information provided by various devices ranging from enhanced sensors to common products as smart-phones. The CUDEN techniques will also ease the management of ad-hoc cooperative communities composed of a great diversity of devices. The resulting services will adapt so as to improve the user experience and build sustaining value and differentiation in decision making processes.

CUDEN aims at establishing an integrative activity based on the proposed common re- search program. Our research team has strong expertise in relevant and complementary areas. UPMC and UTFPR have expertise in architecture and protocol design. IT-TSP, DCC UChile, and URU have strong experience in modeling and experimenting service spaces. LAAS-CNRS manages a research-oriented smart building and has practical knowledge in running the system. CUDEN will go beyond a mere integration of the research activities of the consortium members by involving a large participation of its members in research activities and institutions within the whole research area by the integration of network technologies.

CUDEN also includes a program exchange by stimulating the mobility of researchers, the exchange of staff among the partners as well as the organization of two workshops to stimulate the participation of researchers and students. Students training will also be facilitated by internships at institutions and universities partners of the CUDEN consortium.
